The Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines carry 40 percent of London Undergrounds passengers. With staggering statistics of passenger levels in the region of over 1.5 million per day and no fewer than 147 stations and support buildings, passenger safety is an integral part of the daily operational requirement.

The fire protection asset list on the Tube Lines inventory is in excess of 18,500 individual pieces of fire detection, fire alarm and fire fighting equipment. This embraces everything from portable fire extinguishers fire blankets, sounders and call points, to control panels and fixed suppression systems, up to and including links to the stations public address systems.

Due to the safety critical nature of these assets, maintenance of the fire protection assets is a 24/7/365 operation.
Maintenance is managed through the bespoke in-house developed Maintenance Management System called QtraQ and our 24/7/365 Control Centre, based in Farringdon, Central London. Our team of specialist lead engineers are also based out of this office and provide the technical backup to support the competent field Service Engineers. This infrastructure is the back bone for the smooth running of the maintenance operation.
