JOB TITLE: Project Manager/Surveyor – South of England
The Project Manager / Surveyor will, under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, be responsible for the control of their designated Project or assigned tasks / duties. In the absence of the Senior Project Manager the Programme Manager will be the next tier of reporting.
Responsibilities will include control and documentation relating to the designated project, ensuring compliance with all HSQE legislation and internal policies and procedures relating safe and efficient delivery of the project. In liaison with Departmental Managers be responsible for ensuring that all documentation, services and processes are completing in line with the needs of the business. To motivate and inspire all MJQ people in the division and promote and enforce a safe working environment as per MJ Quinn’s world-class standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Site survey of potential M&E Projects, including layout design, quotation and Client Liaison.
Management of day to day project delivery within a geographical area, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, street works, supplier performance and improvement.
Drive a “Safety First and “Right First Time” culture across the field operations backed up through plans and engagement with suppliers.
Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for ongoing Projects.
Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends are investigated competently and corrective action is taken where and when appropriate.
Through a close working relationship with commercial, identify at the earliest opportunity risks to delivering the budget, supplier and/ or overhead cost impacting upon the project.
Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers, and have monitoring in place to ensure that M.J. Quinn standards are adhered to and met.
Manage staff, oversee work schedules and assign specific duties accordingly.
Deliver quality service to the client ensuring that performance standards & contractual KPI’s and SLA’s are met
Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Senior Project Manager defining project progress, problems and solutions
Assessing designs received from client including any walkouts with client supervisor.
Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology and programme
Liaise with the Senior Project Manager regarding notice requirements, issues and solutions
Produce all work in line with M.J. Quinn Integrated Services Ltd Quality Standards and use best practice methods.
To comply with M.J. Quinn Integrated Services Ltd company Handbook, Policies and Procedures.
To undertake additional ad hoc duties under the direction of line manager in line with the needs of the business
Recognised Building Services Qualification
HNC Building Services
Previous experience of management in regards to M&E Projects
Previous experience of working within the Telecoms Sector i.e. Data Centres, Telephone Exchanges, etc.
Specialist Knowledge / Skills:
Financial acumen – cost management, budget , P&L responsibilities
Microsoft Project Experience
Managerial skills (managing SLAs etc.)
Ability to manage organisational change whilst delivering business results
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated & the ability to motivate others

We are currently resourcing Telecoms Engineers to carry out simple provision work on the Openreach Network for a national contract.
The work involves installing telephone systems by working inside roadside located cabinets (PCP). You will jumper wires from the e-side to the d-side of the cabinet and complete line tests to ensure good working lines for the end user.
You must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Foul weather PPE will be supplied along with a vehicle, tools and the equipment required to complete every job safely and to the highest standards.
Customer satisfaction is key aspect of any work you will carry out and first impressions count. You will need to be customer focused, polite and well-presented.
You will be employed on a sub-contract basis and not PAYE, if you are looking for PAYE then please do not apply.
Although previous experience will be prioritised training can be offered to the right candidate. The ideal trainee will have a trade background in electrical installations or similar and a willingness to learn. Experience of working outdoors in all weathers is also preferred.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Be prepared to complete a full accreditation course to licence you to work on the Openreach Network
Be prepared to complete any other ad hoc training as required.
Willing to travel to and from various job locations within your working area
Be prepared to work away from home to meet operational requirements if needed
Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions
Ability to work alone using your own initiative
Be highly motivated with attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills.
After training, work using hand held testing equipment and PDA tablets etc.
Be flexible with regard to working hours as you are paid on a job completion and appointment completion basis
If required, be prepared to work weekends (normally Saturdays if needed)
Attend accredited training courses if required
Be computer literate and after training be able to install and set up routers, modems and WI-FI.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
Be prepared to undergo a DBS check (formally CRB).
Full UK driving license.
NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working work BT, Sky or Virgin media
Previous experience of telecoms, working off ladders or external network installation.
Have worked in an Engineering or technical environment and have relevant work experience
